The Azzurrini lost the semi-final to Ukraine after seeing a stoppage-time equaliser controversially disallowed.

“We are coming off a very intense match that took a lot out of us, both physically and emotionally,” Nicolato told Sky Sport Italia.

“There are various situations to be verified, I’ll start the best available XI, taking into account that we are missing players like Gianluca Scamacca, Raoul Bellanova, Davide Frattesi and Andrea Pinamonti.

“We must absolutely absorb the disappointment of losing the semi-final, because we were convinced that we could reach the Final and it meant a lot to us.

“It’s still important to earn our place on the podium and, regardless of the result, it’s our job to show we really are the squad who everyone is talking about.”
