General manager Giorgio Perinetti has announced his departure from Genoa, calling it the ‘right’ decision.

Perinetti had been in charge of Genoa’s technical area since October 2017, but he has opted to make away following the recent appointments of Coach Aurelio Andreazzoli and sporting director Stefano Capozucca.

“I wasn’t involved in Andreazoll’s appointment, but it’s one I fully agree with, even if I’m not stopping at Genoa next season,” the 68-year-old told Radio Kiss Kiss.

“I think a farewell is the right decision. Genoa have structural changes in mind and it’s a decision shared with the President.

“I did my bit for Genoa, arriving when they were in a critical situation. Now there’s a need to turn the page. The President will be able to make his own choices.”

ANSA, meanwhile, reports the Grifone should reach a severance agreement with Cesare Prandelli next week after his tenure ended on Friday.
