Meanwhile, Sky Sport Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio reports that new Giallorossi Coach Paulo Fonseca wants to convince Greek Centre-back Manolas to stay with the club, despite Napoli, Milan, and Juventus all considering paying his €36m release clause.

Di Marzio reports that the Azzurri have tried to offer Amadou Diawara in part-exchange for the Greece international, but the Lupi will only sell if his clause is met and would prefer Dries Mertens to the midfielder.

Bournemouth’s Dutch defender Nathan Ake is a possible alternative to Manolas to replace Albiol, however, Tottenham Hotspur are also reportedly interested in the 24-year-old.
