Former Roma and Sampdoria sporting director Walter Sabatini has been confirmed as Bologna’s new technical coordinator.

Sabatini’s role will see him oversee the technical areas of both Bologna and Montreal Impact, given the two clubs are owned by the same parent company, Free 2 Be Holdings Inc.

The 64-year-old stepped down as Samp’s sporting director in April after a row with President Massimo Ferrero.

Prior to that, he was the technical coordinator of Inter and their sister club Jiangsu Suning between May 2017 and March 2018.

His official unveiling will take place tomorrow afternoon, while he should work alongside Rossoblu sporting director Riccardo Bigon.
