Chelsea have reportedly agreed to extend Mario Pasalic’s loan with Atalanta rather than demand the €15m option to buy.
The midfielder spent this season in Bergamo on loan and helped them achieve an historic third-place Serie A finish, qualifying for the Champions League.
He will remain in Gian Piero Gasperini’s squad for next term, as La Gazzetta dello Sport claims Chelsea agreed to simply renew the loan for another 12 months.
Pasalic is under contract with the Premier League club until June 2021.

He scored eight goals and provided six assists in his 42 competitive appearances for Atalanta.
The 24-year-old has been on Chelsea’s books since 2014, but had loan spells with Elche, Monaco, Milan, Spartak Moscow and Atalanta.
