Lele Oriali is set to step down from his role with the Italian national team and reunite with new Inter Coach Antonio Conte.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Giulia Stronati, the Nerazzurri have offered the 66-year-old a three-year contract to return to the club where he spent four years as director of football.
The World Cup winner took over as team manager of the national team in 2014 and worked with Antonio Conte during his spell in charge of Italy.
He remained throughout the Giampiero Ventura and Roberto Mancini eras.
Oriali played at San Siro for 13 years, playing 277 times for the Nerazzurri before joining Fiorentina in 1983.
