Juventus and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly battling it out to sign Sampdoria defender Joachim Andersen and Olympique Lyonnais’ Tanguy Ndombele.

According to the Evening Standard, Tottenham are ‘tracking’ Andersen, who is in turn ‘admired’ by Juve.

However, Spurs are only expected to move for the Dane if Toby Alderweireld leaves, while the Bianconeri are currently focusing their attentions on defensive trio Cristian RomeroMerih Demiral and Strahinja Pavlovic.

As for Ndombele, the newspaper writes the Champions League finalists have ‘prioritised’ the signing of the France midfielder, although they are still some distance away from Lyon’s €60m asking price.

Juve, for their part, are trying to bring back Paul Pogba but are understood to have made a bid for his countryman last month and want to be kept informed on his situation.

The 22-year-old recently told Telefoot: “It’s true that Tottenham are a great team – a big club. They finished fourth in their League, they were finalists in the Champions League.

“They are a big club like many others. Which player would not be interested in a big club?”
