Lecce have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Burak Yilmaz as Besiktas are not prepared to let the striker leave for nothing.
Lecce are pushing hard to find an agreement for Burak, with their sporting director Mauro Meluso even flying out to Turkey on Tuesday.
However, Gianluca Di Marzio warns Besiktas told the Serie A new boys in no uncertain terms that a free transfer was off the agenda.
The 34-year-old is currently in Paris with his family but will return to Istanbul on Thursday, when he is expected to tell his club that he wants to move to Italy.
Only after that happens will the Salentini know whether a deal for the ex-Lazio target is possible.
