The Italian Press remain adamant Torreira wants to leave Arsenal and be reunited with Marco Giampaolo at Milan.

With that in mind, Tuttomercatoweb claims the Gunners could be ready to hijack the proposed swap deal that takes Diawara to Roma in exchange for Kostas Manolas.

Although the deal looks like going through shortly, TMW warns the Londoners are looking at the Napoli midfielder as possible replacement for the 23-year-old.

Elsewhere, Corriere della Sera writes Arsenal have joined the race to sign Ceballos, who has also been linked with arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

The Rossoneri will not match Real Madrid’s reported €50m valuation of the Spaniard, so it is possible they leave him to Arsenal and focus on Torreira.

On the other hand, BBC Sport’s David Ornstein is standing by The Telegraph’s line, asserting Unai Emery’s side have ‘no intention’ of letting the Uruguayan move and that they do not believe he is unhappy.

Furthermore, Milan do not consider him a priority signing as ‘they know the asking price would be prohibitive and they have other targets’.

They are thought to be defenders Ozan Kabak and Theo Hernandez, plus Jordan Veretout and – according to Sempre Milan – a second striker, possibly Andrej Kramaric.
