Milan have reportedly moved to the front of the queue for Fiorentina midfielder Jordan Veretout.

The Veretout saga is fast becoming one of the summer’s most drawn-out as he first appeared to be set for Napoli.

However, the Partenopei ended up keeping Allan, leaving Roma and Milan to battle it out.

The Frenchman’s agent has since met both clubs, and Gianluca Di Marzio claimed on Monday that the Giallorossi were likely to win the race.

Now L’Equipe is reporting the Diavolo have the ‘advantage’ and have ‘moved up a gear’, even ahead of the likes of Arsenal, after positive talks between his camp and Paolo Maldini.

The newspaper explains the Rossoneri are serious about signing the 26-year-old, having ‘gone on the offensive’ in recent days.

However, Fiorentina would be demanding €35m for a player who has scored 15 goals in 75 appearances since arriving from Saint-Etienne in 2017.
