Bologna are close to a deal for SBV Excelsior Rotterdam midfielder Jerdy Schouten for €2m, claim Sky Sport Italia.
The 22-year-old Dutch central midfielder only moved to Excelsior a year ago after coming through the Den Haag academy and playing briefly for Telstar.
He made 35 competitive appearances for Excelsior this season, contributing one goal and two assists.
Ajax and Feyenoord were also said to be interested in signing the Dutch talent.
Although Schouten is a midfielder, he can also play in a more advanced role and even as a centre-forward when required, largely due to his height of 1.85m.
Bologna have been very active on the market since locking down Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic to a new contract, with deals close for Club Brugge centre-back Stefano Denswil, Sint-Truden defender Takehiro Tomiyasu and Inter youth team striker Davide Merola.
