Giampiero Ventura is officially the new Coach of Serie B outfit Salernitana with a one-year contract and option for a second.
The 71-year-old former Torino, Italy and Chievo tactician was announced this afternoon.
It’s reported that the option for a second season will become automatic if Salernitana earn promotion to Serie A.
The club is owned by Lazio President Claudio Lotito and only narrowly avoided relegation this term.
After failing to get Italy into the 2018 World Cup, Ventura had a brief spell on the Chievo bench with four games from October to November 2018 only to walk away.
