New Napoli defender Kostas Manolas has said goodbye to Roma after his €36m move. “I always gave everything I had with love for this team.”
The transfer was made official by a statement on the Giallorossi website, although he still has to undergo a medical.
“I want to thank the Coaches, teammates and all the fans who over these years have been close to me and supported me,” wrote Manolas on Instagram.
“I spent five marvellous years here, I always gave everything I had with love for this team.
“Ciao and thank you Roma!!”
He accompanied it with a picture of his celebration after scoring the decisive goal in the Champions League quarter-final with Barcelona, completing the comeback from 4-1 down on aggregate.
