Olympique Lyonnais have confirmed that they are ‘getting closer’ to a deal for Sampdoria defender Joachim Andersen.

Sky Sport Italia reported late last night that Lyon had agreed a fee of €25m plus €5m in bonuses for Andersen.

That was followed by President Jean-Michel Aulas announcing at a Press conference his club were closing in on the Dane’s signature.

“We’re getting closer to several central defenders, namely Andersen. We’re moving forward,” said Aulas.

The French side have money to burn after raising over €100m from selling Ferland Mendy and Tanguy Ndombele to Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur respectively.
