Reports of Juventus interest in Mauro Icardi are growing, as Inter need to sell before they can purchase Romelu Lukaku and want €60m.
La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Corriere di Torino, Sport Mediaset, Rai Sport and others all suggest the Bianconeri are making genuine steps towards Icardi and preparing a salary worth €8m per year.
Sky Sport Italia had denied this afternoon that there was a Tuesday meeting between Juve director Fabio Paratici and Icardi's wife/agent Wanda Nara in Ibiza, but by this evening had confirmation it did happen.
The striker has split definitively with his club and is refusing all transfer options except for Juve, while new Coach Antonio Conte has made it clear the Argentine is not part of his plans.
Inter need €70m to fund their Lukaku swoop from Manchester United, so it all points towards Icardi going to Turin.
The ugly situation that has developed at San Siro means he is available for around half the price-tag he commanded a year ago, so Inter would be happy to get him off their books for €60m.
As for Juve, it’s known that Maurizio Sarri had already wanted Icardi when he was in charge of Napoli and considers him a classic hitman.
The Old Lady need to sell first too, with Mario Mandzukic and Gonzalo Higuain on the market.
Napoli are still interested in Icardi, but would only go for him if they sold one of their big stars, for example Lorenzo Insigne, and it doesn’t look as if that’s going to happen.
