Daniele De Rossi has reportedly decided to retire after Roma refused to offer him a new contract.
The World Cup winner turns 36 later this month and spent his entire career in the Giallorossi jersey.
There was interest from the likes of Sampdoria, Fiorentina, Milan, Bologna, various MLS clubs and Boca Juniors.
However, according to Il Tempo newspaper, De Rossi has decided it’s not worth uprooting his family for a new experience and he is ready to call it a day.
It’s likely he would take on a new role working with the Italy squad as part of Roberto Mancini’s coaching staff.
