Juventus and Napoli are battling for Mauro Icardi, but Inter would much prefer to sell him to Atletico Madrid for €60m.

Director Beppe Marotta declared yesterday that Icardi and Radja Nainggolan “are not part of our plans” and both are on the market this summer.

He was focused on joining rivals Juve, while Napoli are starting to convince him that the Stadio San Paolo would represent a good move.

Inter aren’t happy at the idea of strengthening Scudetto contenders and would much prefer to sell Icardi abroad, so they’ll be very pleased at the report in Spanish newspaper AS this morning.

It suggests Atletico Madrid are diving back in with an offer for the Argentina international, who has long been appreciated by Coach Diego Simeone.

Before the Colchoneros can prepare a swoop, they first need to sell Diego Costa, having just purchased Alvaro Morata outright from Chelsea for €65m.
