Cristian Romero will complete his Juventus transfer this week, but return to Genoa on loan rather than go to Atalanta, it’s reported.
The 21-year-old centre-back is due his medical tomorrow for a move worth €15-20m including bonuses.
He still needs time to mature with regular playing time elsewhere, so Juve have decided to send the Argentine out on loan.
Atalanta had been interested in giving him a chance, but now it’s reported Romero will simply stay on at Genoa for another season to continue his development.
It confirms the strong transfer connections between Juventus and Genoa.
