Napoli are in the final push for James Rodriguez, as director of sport Cristiano Giuntoli and agent Jorge Mendes visited Real Madrid today.
According to Sky Sport Italia, the Partenopei director flew out to Madrid on Monday for advanced negotiations.
Atletico Madrid remain interested, but Napoli trust that James has chosen them and the chance to work with Carlo Ancelotti again.
They hope to finalise the deal over the next few days, especially as President Aurelio De Laurentiis has just arrived at the Dimaro pre-season training camp.
Real Madrid are asking for €42m and the only issue is whether they’ll agree to spread the cost out on loan with option or obligation to buy.
