Balotelli 'offered to West Ham'

Free agent Mario Balotelli has reportedly been offered a return to the Premier League with West Ham United.

According to The Telegraph, Balotelli could be an option if West Ham fail in their pursuit of Celta Vigo striker Maxi Gomez, who is also a target for Valencia.

With that in mind, the newspaper writes Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini ‘has yet to show any interest’ in the Italy international.

Balo turns 29 next month and is currently without a club after his Olympique Marseille contract expired.

Despite scoring 51 goals in just 81 appearances during his three years in France, question marks remain over his character.

He was reported to police on Monday for paying a local bar owner €2,000 cash to drive a moped into the sea.

Italy CT and long-time mentor Roberto Mancini also seems to have given up on the former Inter and Milan hitman for now.

His indifferent spell at Liverpool aside, Balotelli did win a Premier League title with Mancini and Manchester City in 2012.
