It was reported earlier in the week that Hernandez had been offered to Fiorentina.

However, West Ham failed to bring in Maxi Gomez or Callum Wilson and they tweeted on Wednesday that ‘Chicharito’ had become their new No 9.

With that in mind, Gianluca Di Marzio is reporting Benedetto is Fiorentina’s ‘objective’ in the transfer market to bolster their attack.

Boca sporting director and ex-Roma defender Nicolas Burdisso has also confirmed that the 29-year-old can leave for the right price.

“For us, he can leave when the right offer arrives,” Burdisso told Fox Sports.

“When this offer arrives, I’ll talk to the President with the intention of doing the best for Boca. In the event he leaves, we’ll find a worthy replacement.”

Benedetto was Argentina’s Footballer of the Year in 2017 after a 24-goal campaign, but he has struggled with injuries since.
