Roma have officially purchased goalkeeper Pau Lopez from Real Betis for €23.5m plus bonuses, taking the total figure closer to €28m.

“Real Betis Balompié and AS Roma have reached an agreement for the transfer of the player Pau López to the club from Italy,” read a statement.

“The Club effusively thanks Pau López for his services and wishes him all the best in the future.”

A statement from Roma noted the cost of the operation was €23.5m and he signed a contract to June 2024.

However, this does not include the money handed to Betis as part of the Antonio Sanabria deal, as they were meant to still owe Roma 50 per cent of his transfer fee to Genoa plus bonuses.
