Milan have seemingly reached an agreement for a five-year contract with Empoli and Algeria midfielder Ismael Bennacer.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, negotiations reached a positive conclusion during this afternoon’s conversation between director Paolo Maldini and agent Moussa Sissoko.
Milan had already worked out a transfer fee with Empoli worth €16m plus another €1m in bonuses.
For a few days, it looked as if the whole deal would collapse due to differences between Milan’s offer and Bennacer’s wage demands.
However, they worked out the situation and Bennacer is expected to sign a five-year contract worth €1.5m per season.
Bennacer is currently impressing in the Africa Cup of Nations with Algeria, so will only have his medical and complete the transfer after the tournament has concluded.
