Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis warned Lorenzo Insigne “cannot behave in an infantile manner anymore,” while Marko Rog and Adam Ounas have many offers.
The patron spoke to Sky Sport Italia this evening and covered several stories, including the on-going talks with Real Madrid for James Rodriguez.
“Insigne is a man now, he is mature enough so that he cannot behave in an infantile manner anymore. I can understand that in the past he didn’t appreciate that role, but someone of his quality can play anywhere and ought to put himself at the disposal of Carlo Ancelotti.
“Insigne will find his home at Napoli and we’ll push him to give his best. At times, he was a little unhappy and didn’t perform as well. We hope this’ll be his season, as I’d like to see the Insigne that played for Italy.”
De Laurentiis discussed the new Serie A landscape, with Maurizio Sarri at Juventus, Antonio Conte on the Inter bench, Paulo Fonseca at Roma and Milan’s Marco Giampaolo.
“I imagine an increasingly competitive Napoli, because the bar has been raised in Serie A with Conte and Sarri, while Milan too are reinforcing. Even Fiorentina, Bologna, Genoa and Torino are renovating, so it seems to be a stronger and more balanced campaign.”
Napoli are pushing to purchase players, but must also cut down their squad and the President dropped a few hints.
“We are receiving many requests for Mark Rog, both in Italy and abroad. He has a lot of quality, even if he hasn’t played enough. We are waiting, and if he leaves, then Eljif Elmas is a profile that would suit out team.
“There are a lot of offers for Adam Ounas too, but we’re considering the situation, because he could be of real use to us, too.”
