Bayer Leverkusen have asked Roma for Patrik Schick plus €10m in order to part with winger Leon Bailey, claim Sportitalia.
The Italian television channel maintains talks are progressing, but remain very difficult for the player who turns 22 next month.
The Giallorossi have again approached Jamaica international Bailey, having tried to purchase him several times before.
It’s reported Bayer Leverkusen are prepared to let the left-sided winger go in exchange for €10m cash and ownership of striker Schick.
Roma are considering it, but Schick was a costly investment who has suffered from a serious lack of confidence and injury problems since his transfer from Sampdoria.
Schick is 23 years old and cost €14m plus up to €8m in bonuses in 2017, but most importantly Sampdoria are guaranteed 50 per cent of the transfer fee if he is sold before February 1, 2020.
