It’s a resumption rather than the start of talks, seeing as Nandez was already very close to a Cagliari move in January, when Barella seemed to be on his way out towards Napoli.
The 23-year-old Uruguay international is only under contract with Boca until June 2020, so the price-tag has dropped to €15m and a decisive meeting is planned in Spain on Monday.
Meanwhile, Sportitalia suggest Cagliari are on the verge of signing Croatia international Rog from Napoli.
There is some confusion here, as Sky Sport Italia insist Rog will join Eintracht Frankfurt.
