Napoli and Atletico Madrid are in advanced negotiations for Elseid Hysaj, claim Spanish and Italian sources, with a deal worth €15m plus bonuses.
According to both AS and La Gazzetta dello Sport, the original €25m asking price has dropped to €20m, including add-ons.
The Albania international full-back was purchased from Empoli for just €5m in 2015 and would nonetheless represent a strong profit margin.
It’s possible this could be a loan with option to buy, becoming an obligation if Hysaj played at least 50 per cent of competitive Atletico Madrid games this season.
On the other hand, Mario Rui could be set for a stay at Napoli, at least for the moment, as he tries to convince Carlo Ancelotti to keep him.
The Portugal international had been linked with Milan, Benfica and FC Porto.
