Inter target Romelu Lukaku told reporters they “will know something next week,” while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said Manchester United “haven’t had any bids we are considering.”
The striker was left out of the squad for today’s friendly win against Perth Glory, not even on the bench.
He spoke to reporters in the Optus Stadium and was asked by reporters about his situation.
“You guys will know something next week,” was his response.
In the Press conference, Coach Solksjaer also hinted nothing had changed as of yet, but left the door open for Inter to make a stronger offer.
“There’s been so many speculations, but yes, he should be fit for Wednesday. He was training with the team yesterday, but it wasn’t useful today to risk him.
“We’ll see when the season starts. We haven’t had any bids that we are considering. All my conversations with the players are confidential.”
It’s reported Inter are trying to purchase Lukaku for €70m, spread out over two or three years with bonuses included, whereas Manchester United want over €80m and in one payment.
