Eljif Elmas is reportedly on his way to Napoli from Fenerbahce and fellow Macedonia international Goran Pandev believes “this would be the ideal club for him.”
It’s widely reported a deal is done worth €16m plus performance-related bonuses.
The midfielder will turn 20 in September and already has 11 senior caps, many of them playing alongside Genoa striker Pandev.
“If Napoli do sign him, he’ll be an absolute bargain, because Elmas is among the best young players in circulation in Europe,” Pandev told Sky Sport Italia.
“I have spoken to him and he didn’t say anything in particular, but would be happy to play in Italy. Elmas is a valuable addition because he can play in any midfield role, has an eye for goal and can even be a trequartista behind the strikers.
