“They played very well, I thought we’d lose because these Mexicans can play,” the new owner told Firenzeviola.it.

“I watched some great players and you could see the hard work of the team. The important thing is to play well. The wins will come sooner or later.

“Chiesa sat next to me and we watched half of the game together. We didn’t talk about anything, he’s a very good lad.

“I said it from day one, we want to keep him. As for the market, Prade needs time. We mustn’t forget that if my deal [to buy the club] hadn’t ended in two-and-a-half weeks, there wouldn’t have been this sharp change in Fiorentina.

“The results haven’t arrived yet, but in the meantime we have friendlies to play. After that, we’ll see how we’ve worked.”
