Milan are reportedly stepping up contract talks for Giacomo Bonaventura, who should regain full fitness next month.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Milan have already begun work on a new contract for Bonaventura, whose current deal expires next year.
The midfielder played just eight times in Serie A last season due to a serious knee injury, although he still managed three goals.
Di Marzio adds he is closing in on a return to the pitch, with a comeback scheduled for August.
Bonaventura, who turns 30 next month and is represented by Mino Raiola, joined the Diavolo from Atalanta in the summer of 2014 for €7m.
He has gone on to post 31 goals and 16 assists in 152 appearances for the club.
