Jordan Veretout is “very happy to join this great club” Roma in a €17m deal from Fiorentina, while Gianluca Petrachi assured he’d been “enthusiastic” since the start.
The move was completed today, on loan with obligation to buy for a total €17m, plus another €2m in bonuses.
“I am very happy to join this great club, with wonderful players,” the 26-year-old midfielder told asroma.com.
“I’ll have the opportunity and the good fortune to share this experience with great teammates.”
Milan had seemingly overtaken Roma in the race to sign Veretout last week, but the Giallorossi clinched the deal.
“From the very first phase of negotiations, I saw his great enthusiasm to wear the Giallorossi jersey,” added director of sport Petrachi.
“I am sure that his enthusiasm and technical qualities will be fundamental for the Roma we are trying to build.”
