Napoli have reportedly moved for Olympique Lyonnais attacker Nabil Fekir as an alternative to James Rodriguez.
A deal for James is proving increasingly difficult, with Napoli so far unprepared to meet Real Madrid’s demands of a €50m permanent deal.
Therefore, RMC Sport and L’Equipe both report the Partenopei are now focusing their attentions on Fekir,
The Frenchman had appeared to be closing in on a switch to Real Betis, but RMC notes he would prefer to join a club in European competition.
He would also be available for a reduced price as his contract expires next summer and Lyon are resigned to losing him.
L’Equipe, meanwhile, writes Napoli began negotiating for the 26-year-old at the start of the week.
The newspaper explains he has already spoken to Coach Carlo Ancelotti and President Aurelio De Laurentiis, with the club even offering him a contract.
Another round of talks are now expected to take place early next week, where the terms of Fekir’s transfer could be thrashed out.
