Inter forward Mauro Icardi is now open to discussing a move to Napoli, according to Sportitalia, as Gonzalo Higuain is stalling Juventus.
The striker was told in no uncertain terms he was not part of Antonio Conte’s plans at San Siro this season, but has until now rejected all options.
He wanted to hold out for Juve, but the Bianconeri cannot purchase until they have sold Higuain.
As Higuain continues to snub the offer from Roma and the summer goes on, Icardi is beginning to realise he might not be able to wait for the Bianconeri.
Napoli would be prepared to pay the €60m asking price to Inter, with a salary believed to be worth €10m per season, and guarantee regular playing time under Carlo Ancelotti.
According to Sportitalia transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà, Icardi and wife/agent Wanda Nara are now open to negotiations with Napoli.
In turn, Atletico Madrid are ready to complete their swoop for Real Madrid creative midfielder James Rodriguez.
