The Albania international full-back believes his time at the club has come to an end and has been pushing for a transfer all summer, but nobody has met the €25m asking price.

“I’ll go to the Dimaro training camp tomorrow to discuss the transfer situation for Hysaj,” agent Mario Giuffredi told Radio Marte.

“Hysaj is unlikely to remain at Napoli and we’ll work to the end of the summer to take him to another club, because Napoli currently have five full-backs in their squad. I do believe in any case that his time in this jersey has come to a close.

“There are only two years left on his contract with Napoli, he’s coming off a campaign that wasn’t the best and I think some figures need to be re-evaluated, but I don’t want to get into the issue of the price, which is set by Napoli.

“The club knows the player wants to leave. Atletico Madrid made an approach, we discussed it for about a month, then the club offer was lower than Napoli expected and Atletico went for Kieran Trippier instead.

“With the Spaniards out of the picture, there are other situations in the balance and we will wait for them to develop.”
