The 19-year-old Danish winger completed the €6m transfer from Nordsjaelland this week, although he had also been linked with Glasgow Rangers, among others.

“The club has been tracking me for a long time and there are really good, reliable people here,” said Skov Olsen in his Press conference.

“I am young and it was my first time leaving home, so I needed time to think. I felt in my heart that I wanted Bologna and I accepted their project.

“I had many offers and other clubs that wanted me, but nobody as much as the Rossoblu. I just wanted a little time to think it over and be sure.

“Bologna gave me the time to take a break and consider everything, so I really appreciated that gesture. I can’t get to work and start learning from the more experienced players here.

“I know Serie A is tough, that we work hard in defence and that is where I have to improve. I am not afraid of challenging myself in Serie A.”

Bologna Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic is currently undergoing chemotherapy for leukaemia, so is following training sessions via livestreams from his hospital bed.

“I met Mihajlovic when I came to visit the Bologna training ground the first time and I made a bet with him that I had a better left foot. My hero is Arjen Robben, but I can play on the right, left or even as a centre-forward.”
