SPAL, Sassuolo and Brescia all won their pre-season friendlies today against Serie C opposition.
New signing Federico Di Francesco hasn’t even completed the paperwork yet from Sassuolo, but was already making his debut in a SPAL jersey during their 4-1 win over FeralpiSalò.
Sergio Floccari opened the scoring from a corner, then Mattia Valoti’s daisy-cutter doubled their lead, but Floccari saw a penalty saved.
Ceccarelli got one back for FeralpiSalò before half-time, but SPAL ran riot after the break with a Rinaldi own goal and Lorenzo Dickmann springing the offside trap.
Sassuolo only managed a 2-0 result against Sudtirol, as Alfred Duncan broke the deadlock with a solo effort and in the second half Enrico Brignola tapped in a Pol Lirola low cross.
Alfredo Donnarumma continued his extraordinary goal-scoring form for Brescia, who saw off Renate 2-0.
Last season’s Serie B Capocannoniere scored from a Luca Tremolada assist, then Ernesto Torregrossa converted a penalty late on.
