Napoli target Hirving Lozano has a €42m release clause in his PSV Eindhoven contract, claim reports, as talks with Mino Raiola continue.
The Mexico international had been one of the first names on Carlo Ancelotti’s list this summer, but is coming back around after problems with other options such as Nicolas Pepe and James Rodriguez.
PSV Eindhoven were knocked out of the Champions League preliminary round last night by FC Basel, which makes it much more likely they’ll sell Lozano.
According to CalcioNapoli24, not only have negotiations with agent Raiola never really stopped, but also there is a release clause in the contract.
It’s worth €35m plus a percentage owed to his previous club Pachuca, bringing the total cost to €42m.
This is exactly the same figure that Real Madrid are asking for James Rodriguez.
It also means that for the sum Napoli had been prepared to pay Lille for Pepe - €80m – they could effectively purchase both James and Lozano.
Pepe had his Arsenal medical yesterday and is expected to complete the transfer this evening.
