Sampdoria have approached Hatem Ben Arfa, claim Sky Sport Italia, who is a free agent after his Rennes contract expired.
According to transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, the 32-year-old France international is an option for Coach Eusebio Di Francesco’s team.
Ben Arfa can play in several attacking positions for the 4-3-3 system, or as a creative midfielder behind the strikers.
His previous clubs include Lyon, Marseille, Newcastle United, Nice and Paris Saint-Germain.
