Friendly: Lazio win Bournemouth thriller

Lazio won a 4-3 thriller at the Vitality Stadium, beating Bournemouth thanks to a Joaquin Correa brace, Luis Alberto and Marco Parolo.

Senad Lulic saw an early goal ruled offside from the Milan Badelj long ball, but the Aquile opened the scoring with a well-worked move.

After a corner, Ciro Immobile and Joaquin Correa completed a quick give-and-go in the box, the Argentine threading into the net from the tightest of angles.

There was a sudden flurry of activity that saw the hosts turn the game around completely, as Jefferson Lerma was allowed too much room on the edge of the area to pick his spot and beat Thomas Strakosha, then Dominic Solanke was left unmarked to finish a Ryan Fraser cross.

Immobile thought he had equalised for 2-2 when a long Luis Alberto ball was knocked down by Marco Parolo and he cut back past a challenge to turn in from close range, but it was disallowed using VAR for handball.

Immobile kept pushing and ran on to another Parolo ball over the top, his finish this time deflected on to the crossbar by on-rushing Mark Travers.

Simone Inzaghi’s men dominated after the restart, as Luis Alberto intercepted an awful back-pass and calmly deposited it past the stranded goalkeeper.

Lazio restored their advantage when Stefan Radu floated a ball to the back post for unmarked Parolo to nod in undisturbed.

Correa completed his brace with a marvellous piece of skill, turning between two defenders in the penalty area with a heel control and another finish from a tight angle.

In the final minutes, Bournemouth did get a consolation goal with Jack Stacey blasting into the roof of the net from six yards after a great run from Jordon Ibe.

Immobile was looking for his goal until the final whistle, a powerful effort forcing a one-handed save and Francesco Acerbi’s volley deflected wide.
