Tottenham Hotspur have practically abandoned attempts to sign Paulo Dybala after securing a €60m deal for Giovani Lo Celso.

They had made a bid worth €70m, accepted by Juventus, but personal terms were proving a massive problem, just as they had been with Manchester United.

With the Premier League transfer deadline under 24 hours away, there isn’t enough time to work through the many complicated details.

With the Premier League transfer deadline under 24 hours away, there isn’t enough time to work through the many complicated details.

This includes a salary of €12m plus bonuses, €15m commission for his agent and the outstanding legal action from his former agency that could cost €40m.

Instead, Sky Sports UK and others are confident Tottenham agreed a £55m transfer for Real Betis talent Lo Celso.

This effectively terminates their interest in Dybala, who is still wanted by Paris Saint-Germain.
