According to Sportitalia, Roma noticed that Juve were prepared to let Rugani go on loan with obligation to buy, possibly as much as a two-year stint with payment guaranteed for 2021.

The Giallorossi contacted Juventus director Fabio Paratici to see if they could agree similar terms for Rugani.
