Roma are working on two fronts, requesting Daniele Rugani from Juventus and Dejan Lovren from Liverpool on loan with options to buy.

La Gazzetta dello Sport confirmed that negotiations are intensifying for Lovren, who could be available on a €2m loan with option to buy for €16-18m.

That option could become an obligation if he reaches a set number of appearances during the season.

Sportitalia, meanwhile, suggest similar talks are going on with Juve for Rugani, who saw potential Premier League moves to Arsenal and Wolves break down on deadline day.

As the Gunners had tried to sign him on loan with obligation to buy, Roma are also hoping to get similar terms.

Another meeting is set with the Bianconeri for Monday or Tuesday to discuss the situation, but Sportitalia transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà insists Rugani has already given the all-clear for a Giallorossi transfer.

He is no longer required in Turin following the arrival of Matthijs de Ligt and Merih Demiral, not to mention Coach Maurizio Sarri’s focus on a four-man defence.
