SPAL will be able to host their Serie A home games at the Stadio Paolo Mazza after authorities rescinded the sequester order.

The arena had been locked down last month when potential irregularities were found in the extension work done in 2018.

However, an investigation today ruled that the overall security status of the stadium is “acceptable” and directions given for small adjustments.

The arena had been locked down last month when potential irregularities were found in the extension work done in 2018.

However, an investigation today ruled that the overall security status of the stadium is “acceptable” and directions given for small adjustments.

The local Ferrara council must now give the all-clear, but SPAL have effectively nullified the risk of having to play their Serie A home matches elsewhere.

The Stadio Mazza had to be improved twice from 2016 to 2018, as SPAL earned back-to-back promotions from Serie C to the top flight.

Consequently, the capacity went from 7,400 to 16,134.
