Napoli fell to a 4-0 loss in their second American friendly against Barca on Saturday evening, but Ancelotti dismissed the result, preferring to assess his side’s preparations for the 2019-20 campaign as a whole.

“I’m satisfied with what the team showed in both games,” the Coach said after the match.
“We played the first half well but then we were affected by two offside goals we conceded at the start of the second half.
“We were facing a great team, who controlled the match, but it was changed by the two goals that shouldn’t have counted.
“We were also probably a bit tired because we come from a month of intense preparation, but I saw no problem beyond that.
“There are still good sensations to be taken from these two games against Barcelona and we start our preparation for the new season from here.
“I’m confident about the work done we’ve done, both during our preseason retreat and during friendlies.
“We have a quality group and I’m sure we can have a great season. I’ve received excellent signals from the lads and, I repeat, they gave off positive sensations overall.
“We’ll be ready for when the season starts on August 24.”
