Verona and Fiorentina both remain in the race for Mario Balotelli, but Flamengo insist they are still confident of landing the Italy striker.
Sportitalia and Gazzetta dello Sport are now claiming Verona and Fiorentina are both ready to pounce for the 29-year-old free agent, but the Brazilian side are not giving up just yet.
“I talked to him via video call, but these are negotiations that aren’t at all easy but rather complicated,” their Vice-President Marcos Braz was quoted as saying by ANSA.
“There are so many issues to de, he’s a foreigner and in terms of paperwork there’s a lot to do.
“It’s all very complex, and I can’t talk about it too much and say whether or not we’re close to a conclusion.
“Of course, Flamengo are interested in him, but nothing’s official. We’ll see what happens next week.
“He told me he’d like to come here and that if an agreement was reached, he would do so without any problems.”
