With Hirving Lozano on the verge of a Napoli move, it’s reported Simone Verdi now has the all-clear to join Torino for €20-22m plus half his future fee.
According to Sportitalia and Tuttosport, the imminent arrival of Mexico international winger Lozano from PSV Eindhoven allows the Partenopei to release Verdi.
He has been targeted by Torino for months and finally seems set to join Walter Mazzarri’s men.
Transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà claims Toro will be able to get free kick specialist Verdi for €20-22m.
La Gazzetta dello Sport writer Nicolò Schira puts the figure even lower, at a loan with obligation to buy for a total €20m.
That would be slightly less than Napoli paid to get him from Bologna a year ago, with that deal coming at a cost of €24.5m.
However, that could well include a clause giving Napoli 50 per cent of any future fee that Torino get from a sale.
The 27-year-old made little impact at the Stadio San Paolo, contributing four goals and three assists in 24 competitive appearances.
