Martinez was once considered hot property in Europe after his haul of 94 goals in three seasons with Porto.

However, a €35m move to Atletico Madrid in 2015 lasted just six months and he went on to play just 16 times for Guangzhou Evergrande in three years, despite costing the Chinese club €42m.

The 32-year-old recovered some of his goalscoring form back in Portugal with Portimonense last season, netting nine times in 27 appearances.

Carrillo, meanwhile, is surplus to requirements at Southampton and spent the previous campaign at La Liga side Leganes.

The Argentine is a targetman who previously played for Monaco and holds an Italian passport.
