Urbano Cairo has appeared to warn that Torino will be forced to make sales if they do not qualify for the Europa League group stage.
Torino lost 3-2 at home in the first leg of their Europa League playoff with Wolves on Thursday night, and the club’s President refused to comment on Walter Mazzarri’s defensive view of the match.
“I don’t want to go into details and technical things, that’s for the Coach,” Cairo after the game.

“There was no quality reinforcement available in July. They weren’t available.”
The patron was then asked about Napoli forward Simone Verdi, who has been heavily linked with a return to the Granata.
“If we’d found an agreement for Verdi, he’d be here with us right now,” he lamented.
“There’s no agreement with Napoli for Verdi, otherwise he’d be with us. I’ve received many enquiries for my players, but I said ‘no’ to all of them.
“I started off by saying that I wanted to keep the squad and add a quality signing to it. If we’d made a signing like that and you play Zaza and Belotti against Wolves, I don’t know if he’d play because he may lack balance.
“A quality signing doesn’t necessarily mean that they’ll play.”
