“We are facing a team that had an exceptional campaign and reinforced even more over the summer, so are among the strongest sides in Italy,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“We’ve prepared well and need a great performance if we are to emerge with a positive result from this game. Our objective is Serie A safety and we want to achieve it at all costs, one way or another.

“We need the fans to continue supporting us and I have the utmost faith our players will throw themselves into battle to stay in Serie A.”

The transfer window doesn’t close until September 2 and Semplici is still waiting for reinforcements.

“Although I am aware that we are missing a few figures, I am focused on getting the best possible SPAL results out of the next two games.

“I have always been at the disposal of the club to wait for the squad to be completed and I haven’t rushed anyone. It’s fundamental now that we concentrate on this match.”
